I build the Flutter apps delivery riders work from for a whole shift, the dashboards restaurant managers check between the lunch and dinner rush, and the Quran app my family reads from. I take each one from code to store release.

Before Roboost

Gym management system. ITI graduation project, 2022, team of six. I wrote the React Native (Expo) client alone: diet and workout plans, a shop with a cart, Redux, PayPal subscriptions; and the PayPal checkout in the React web app.

How I work

Four habits you can trace in the case studies. Each one links to where it shows.

  1. Make the wrong state impossible to show

Repositories return a typed Result and notifiers expose sealed states, so an error is something a screen renders, not something it forgets to catch. In the rider app an order step carries its own colour and swipe label, so the button and the status pill can’t disagree.

  2. Assume the connection will drop

Sira shows a reply the moment it’s sent and merges every poll by message id, so a retry never doubles a bubble, and a voice note stays on the phone until the server confirms it. OPUS-365 keeps an offline clock-in with its time and position and sends it on reconnect.

  3. Let CI hold the line

When you are the only developer, checks have to remember what you can’t. On Sira the build fails on any analyzer warning, on any import from one feature into another, and below a coverage gate. Rattel enforces the same import rule.

  4. Go native when Flutter stops

Rattel’s home screen widgets are written in Kotlin and SwiftUI, and the rider app has a Swift notification extension for image pushes. When Nearpay’s Flutter SDK stopped compiling, I forked and updated it rather than drop tap to pay.

About

عبدالرحمن حمدي يوسف

I studied civil engineering at Aswan University, then retrained in cross-platform mobile development at ITI in 2022. I joined Roboost that December as one of two Flutter developers, and six months later I was the only one.

Most of my work is keeping apps that people depend on during a working day reliable while they keep changing: moving a production app from Flutter 2.10 to 3.47 and through two restructurings of its architecture without stopping releases, while its daily crashes per installed device fell from a 6% peak to under 0.02%.

The work I like best sits between the phone and the rest of the system: native platform code when Flutter stops, a small backend when an app needs one, and tests and CI checks that let one person own a large codebase.
